Kinesiology is supervised, exercise-based rehabilitation: a kinesiologist designs and coaches a progressive program that rebuilds the strength, mobility, and confidence an injury took away. At Regenesis it is the engine of ICBC active rehab claims, with direct billing available for ICBC.
Kinesiology sessions at Regenesis focus on active rehabilitation through scientifically-informed exercise programming. Our Kinesiologists work with you to develop a progressive movement plan tailored to your physical capabilities and recovery goals. We assess movement quality, identify biomechanical imbalances, and implement corrective exercises. This service is essential for transition from acute passive treatment to full functional activity. We measure progress through strength gains, movement efficiency, and the successful return to daily activities. By combining biomechanics and physiology, we ensure that your recovery translates directly into improved performance in your daily life.
At Regenesis, we treat a variety of conditions, from chronic back pain to acute sports injuries. We believe in one-on-one sessions that prioritize your goals. We don't just treat the symptoms—we identify the root cause of your pain to ensure long-term physical wellness.
Who is Kinesiology for?
Kinesiology suits anyone who knows what the problem is and now needs structured, supervised work to rebuild capacity. The largest group is ICBC active rehab patients — after a motor vehicle accident, ICBC typically pre-approves 12 kinesiology sessions, and a kinesiologist-led program is how most people bridge the gap between passive treatment and full function. It also fits people returning to work after injury, post-surgical patients transitioning from clinic-based physiotherapy to gym-based loading, and anyone whose recovery has stalled because home exercises alone aren't progressing. Sessions are one-on-one and movement-focused: think guided training with a clinical purpose, not a fitness class.
What does a first visit look like?
The first kinesiology session begins with a movement-focused assessment: your injury history and any physiotherapy findings, then practical testing of how you squat, hinge, reach, balance, and carry — identifying which patterns are limited, weak, or guarded. From there your kinesiologist builds the first version of your program and coaches you through it the same day, calibrating each exercise to a level that challenges without flaring symptoms. You'll leave with a written program, clear technique cues, and a progression plan that updates as you do. Wear gym clothing and indoor athletic shoes. If you have an ICBC claim, bring your claim number — billing usually goes directly to ICBC with nothing out of pocket.
